Michael Hopko's background in glass began in 1990 as an art student at Shasta College. He began studying ceramics and became infatuated with glass from the moment he began his first class.
Following college, Michael worked as an apprentice glass blower with several glass artists in California. In 1996, he founded his own glass studio.
An avid fisherman since the age of three, Michael's passion for sealife is clearly the inspiration for his unique body of work. Michael has developed a collection of hand blown glass sculptures that combine art and craftsmanship, capturing the beauty and motion of nature through his chosen medium- glass.
